Departure from the Netherlands: In Amsterdam you check-in at one of the counters inside the Eurolines bus station. You must check-in no later than 30 minutes before the departure time stated on your ticket. Check-in closes 15 minutes before departure. Once check-in is closed, we regret that boarding of the coach is not possible and your ticket will be invalid for travel.

From all other Dutch departure points you have to be at the bus stop at least 30 minutes before departure. The check-in will be done by the driver of the coach or local employees.

Departure from other countries: Check-in no later than 30 minutes before departure (Note: In London check-in is 1 hour before departure at the counter). If there is a Eurolines office that is open close to your departure point you can check-in at the counter - otherwise directly with the driver.

Identity documents

It is the responsibility of passengers to ensure that they are in possession of correct and valid documentation for travel to and through countries on the journey(s) reserved (e.g identity card, passport, visas.Unaccompanied minors (age 16 and 17) are required to carry authorization papers to leave the country.

If you were unable to travel because your identity papers appeared not to be valid, we refer you to the refund information stated in the Travel conditions (article 7.9).

The coaches do not stop at the border in order to allow passengers to arrange missing visa or customs clearance etc.

If travelling to the United Kingdom (or Ireland when this destination is offered), you are requested to show your valid travel documentation when booking your journey at our offices.

Passengers under 18 years old

Passengers under 16 years old are not allowed to board a Eurolines coach without being accompanied by an adult.

If the adult accompanying the child is not the parent(s), an authorization letter has to be signed by the parent(s) or an adult who has legal parental authority.

Passengers between 16 and 18 years old can travel alone if they have a valid and current passport but must also carry during the journey written authorization from a parent or legal guardian.

Boarding a Eurolines coach will be denied if any passenger under the age of 18 does not adhere to these regulations and legislation.

Confirmation of your return journey

Reconfirmation of the return journey is compulsory in some countries. Please contact the Eurolines offices in your country of destination at least 5 days before your departure date (except if stated otherwise on your ticket).

In certain cases, a supplementary reconfirmation fee may be applied.

On board

  • To ensure the comfort of all passengers, eating, drinking alcohol or smoking onboard is strictly forbidden. Regular stops are scheduled to allow customers to eat/smoke. The coach driver has the right to refuse any passenger under the influence of alcohol who may have a disruptive influence on the enjoyment of travel of fellow passengers. If provided, the wearing of seat belt whilst traveling is compulsory.  The coach driver has the right to refuse any passenger under the influence of alcohol who may have a disruptive influence on the enjoyment of travel of fellow passengers.
